FC Midtjylland and FC Ebedei are searching for a dedicated and open-minded Head of Coaching to lead our football academy in Sagamu, Nigeria, for the upcoming 2025/2026 season.
The FC Ebedei Academy is a state of the art academy in Sagamu, Nigeria, based one hour form Lagos Airport, known for producing football players such as Paul Onuachu (Southampton FC), Frank Onyeka (FC Augsburg) and Raphael Onyedika (Club Brugge).
Role & Responsibilities
The Head of Coaching will be based at the academy in Sagamu and will work closely with the management and coaching staff of both FC Ebedei and FC Midtjylland. The role involves:
- Developing and implementing a structured yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily training program.
- Overseeing the technical and tactical development of players and coaches within the academy.
- Conducting coach education sessions to enhance the knowledge and skills of local coaching staff.
- Ensuring alignment between FC Midtjylland’s football philosophy and FC Ebedei’s development model.
- Collaborating with academy staff to foster a high-performance environment.
- Adapting to and integrating within the cultural and footballing landscape of Nigeria.
Required Qualifications & Experience
We welcome applications from Denmark, the EU, and internationally, provided the following criteria are met:
- UEFA A or Pro License (or equivalent international certification).
- Proven coaching experience at an elite youth football level.
- Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities.
- Experience in designing and executing structured training programs.
- Ability to develop and educate other coaches.
- Prior experience working in African football environments is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English.
- Adaptability and life skills suited to living in Nigeria for extended periods.
Living & Working Conditions
- The Head of Coaching will reside at the FC Ebedei Academy campus in Sagamu, alongside coaching staff and players.
- When off duty, accommodation will be provided in a secure residential area in Lagos.
- The position will commence on August 1, 2025.
- Salary is based on the applicant’s experience, education and skills.
